KARPACZ ECONOMIC FORUM – CARPATHIAN EUROPE

The 35th Economic Forum has concluded in Karpacz; this year (September 8-10, 2026) it was held under the theme „Architecture of the New Order –  Stability in Times of Change”. As one of the most significant economic and political events in Central and Eastern Europe, the forum brought together over 6,000 guests from around the world – including business leaders, politicians, local government officials, and academics – at the Hotel Gołębiewski. Three days of debates focused on geopolitics, artificial intelligence, the energy transition, and rebuilding economic resilience following global crises.

An integral part of the event was the 42nd edition of the Carpathian Europe Conference, serving as a key dialogue platform for nations in the Carpathian region. Discussion panels in this segment primarily addressed building a new security architecture, developing cross-border infrastructure, protecting the mountains’ unique natural heritage, and fostering university cooperation to train future leaders. Significant attention was also paid to the future of agriculture in Central Europe and support for border regions amidst current geopolitical tensions, demonstrating that the Carpathians serve as a space that strongly unites – rather than divides – neighboring nations.

Aleksandra Jankowska, President of the Intermarium Institute, spoke on behalf of the Institute during a panel dedicated to the role and strength of Central Europe. Other participants included Prof. Zbigniew Rau (former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland) and Prof. Piotr Gliński (former Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland); the panel was moderated by Prof. Karol Karski.

We extend our thanks to Marshal Marek Kuchciński for the invitation to participate.
