On October 5, 2023, the Intermarium Institute and the Port of Gdańsk Authority S.A. organized the conference “Via Carpatia – A Strategic Trade Route,” dedicated to the international Via Carpatia transport corridor. The conference was opened by the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, Niki Kimba. Professors from Greek and Polish universities specializing in transportation issues participated. The conference concluded with the signing of a letter of intent between the Intermarium Institute and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Future areas of cooperation were agreed upon and outlined, and an action plan was defined. The Parties will implement the provisions of the letter by further promoting interconnections between ports and both countries in order to support the transport market and increase trade, in particular by cooperating in the development and operation of ports, transport connections, modern logistics services, intermodal transport, intelligent port construction, ecological and low-emission solutions, etc.

The cooperation is to be based on the exchange of experience in the field of maritime know-how, including maritime safety, transport, infrastructure, logistics, the use of European Union funds, as well as through supporting scientific facilities.
